Our Mission

We're here to bake change

We're on a mission to do more than bake cookies; we're here to bake change. We have distributed more than 8,500 desserts.

At Driven Desserts, we strive to empower teens and community members to make a real impact through simple, meaningful acts of kindness. By coming together to create and share desserts, we spread joy, compassion, and awareness for those facing food insecurity in Loudoun County and beyond.

Our goal is to show that giving back doesn't have to be complicated - it can start with something as small as a cookie and grow into a movement of care and connection.

Together, we can turn compassion into action and make life a little sweeter for everyone.

How it Started

From a local bubble to real community connection

Driven Desserts began with two high school students who wanted to give back to their community and inspire others to do the same. Growing up in the Loudoun County "bubble," we saw how easy it can be to get caught up in our own world. We wanted to create a way for teens to step outside of it, connect with others, and make a real difference.

Distributing desserts with meals for free in partnership with America's Soup Kitchen, we bake and share cookies, brownies, cupcakes, cake pops, and more alongside meals for people in need. Our goal is simple: to brighten someone's day with a little sweetness and show that small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

In 2025, we decided to turn our favorite pastimes into a platform for change. As founders of Driven Desserts, our passions have always been eclectic-from the precision of baking and cooking to the discipline of tennis and reading. Driven Desserts was born from the idea that these creative outlets shouldn't just be hobbies; they should be a vehicle for community outreach.

You're never too young to make an impact!

Join the Movement: Bake, Drive, Serve

Want to get involved? We're always looking for passionate volunteers to help us expand our reach. Whether you're a pro in the kitchen or just want to help with deliveries, there's a place for you at Driven Desserts. Spend two hours on the day you sign up - normally Saturday or Sunday for baking.

When?

  • Baking: Choose a Tue-Fri slot on the volunteer form (usually 2-hour shifts)
  • Distribution: Chantilly Wednesdays 5-7pm · Sterling Fridays 5-7pm

Where?

  • Baking: 42692 Pocosin Ct, Ashburn VA · or · 21132 Walkley Hill Place, Ashburn VA
  • Distribution: Stone Springs Hospital (Dulles) · Sterling Community Center

In need of a meal?

Our partner, America's Soup Kitchen, offers free hot meals to anyone in need, without any questions asked. All it needs is a sign-up for the meal.

What you'll get

  • A fresh, hot meal
  • Free desserts with every meal (cookies, brownies, cupcakes, cake pops, and more)

Who they serve

  • Primarily residents of Loudoun County, Virginia
  • No eligibility requirements - if you're in need, you're welcome

When you sign up for a meal from America's Soup Kitchen, you will automatically receive free desserts (cookies, brownies, cupcakes, cake pops, and more)! Desserts are a special treat in addition to the meal.

We are Driven by a passion for service. Help us continue our community outreach. Your donation doesn't just buy a dessert - it powers a movement.

Donations in person: Drop off most-needed items such as flour or sugar at 42692 Pocosin Ct, Ashburn, VA 20148.

We also have boxes set up outside of Harris Teeter (42415 Ryan Rd, Brambleton, VA 20148). Help us by dropping off flour, sugar, and other baking staples. Any donation is greatly appreciated!
